Bead Celebration

Before Joining us in Ojai, please take a few minutes to write a bead blessing down on a piece of paper.
There’s going to be a lot of stories and love floating around, and we want to be sure we can soak up every bead’s energy without losing any little piece of it.
Write about what your bead means to you, how you found it, or what energy you're bringing with it.

Stories & Toasts

We’ll have two big family dinners during the weekend, and there will be plenty of time for anyone who wants to share a story, a memory, a toast, or just some love.
If you feel moved to say something, you’re invited and encouraged to.

The bead ceremony though, will be a little different. It will flow straight into our ceremony, and it’s meant to be short and sweet blessings, not speeches.
Save the longer stories and rambles for after the ceremony, when we’re all gathered around with full plates and full hearts.

Travel and Arrival

Please send Nika a text or email with your expected arrival time and who you will be arriving with on Friday or Saturday. There is not a traditional reception desk where you are headed, so, upon arrival you will be showed to your casita personally.

Weekend Overview

  • FRIDAY

Its all about making it to Ojai and settling in.

For the folks arriving before or around 6PM we will have casual dinner options delivered to the property (most likely pizza party) but if you would like to go into town for dinner you are absolutely welcome to. If you are arriving after 8PM we encourage you to arrive with a full belly.

  • SATURDAY

Easy morning vibes, if you want, join a Turtle Tour (yep, we’re living at a turtle sanctuary for the weekend, 400+ turtles hanging out with us).

Lunch will be delivered to the property.

After lunch, we’ll kick things off for real with a little adventure to get to know the land and each other.
Expect games, connection, and a sweet walk through the nature reserve that ties the two properties together.

If you’re wondering what to wear for these activities: Think light recreation and you’ll be good to go.

We’ll have a short break to freshen up, then come back together for our first family dinner of the weekend.

Pro tip: bring a layer, California temperatures like to play tricks when the sun dips below the horizon.

  • SUNDAY

Start your morning your way, slow, adventurous, or somewhere in between.
(Optional very early trip to the ocean if you're feeling it!)

Head into Ojai for lunch (just 8 minutes away) or stay on property and enjoy the pools.
(Sandwich supplies will be available in one of the communal kitchens if you want a bite on-site.)

Need a ride into town? Plenty of folks with cars, just ask around! :)

Early afternoon, Jake and Nika will be prepping for the ceremony(nothing too official) feel free to swing by with love and good vibes.

Mid-afternoon, we’ll gather and the Amorvida celebration(within the celebration) begins. Bead ceremony to happy hour, maybe a song or two and then into a show stopping dinner prepared by a local chef celebrating Ojai organic farmers.
Bring your bead, your note, and a layer for when the sun goes down.

  • MONDAY

We invite you to all gather one last time for coffee and brunch before departing to your next adventure.

Nika’s Notes

The Casitas on site are historic which means they are just as unique as they are beautiful. You can expect very basic toiletries are provided but if you need hair tools or additional amenities to feel your best plan to bring them with you.

Nika’s notes to consider: Sun protection is a must, a water bottle to stay hydrated, bathing suit of you want to swim.

***For those who’ve asked
We’re not expecting gifts your presence means the world to us.

But for those who’ve reached out wanting to contribute to Jake and Nika’s adventure, Nik’s mom (Katrin!) helped set up a simple link to make that easy.

Since we’re always on the move, we’re not in need of traditional registry items but if you feel inspired to support us in this next chapter, you can do so here: HoneyFund
